#Costing Equity: Education Finance for All
Time: 17 October 2016 13.15 p.m. - 14.30 p.m
Venue: Conference Room 7, United Nations, New York
We are pleased to invite you to attend the official launch of IDDC’s Equitable Financing for Disability-Inclusive Education research, #CostingEquity.
This invitation-only side event will bring together: Ministers of education and finance; UN agency representatives; development aid providers in education; bilateral/multilateral agencies; private donors; civil society; and representatives of disabled person’s organisations from around the world. Ensuring no one is left behind in education necessitates targeted financing policies and action for learners with disabilities. The IDDC will contribute to the growing discussion on finance for education generated by the Global Campaign for Education Theme: Fund the future and the launch of the International Commission on Financing Global Education Opportunity report: Explore the Learning Generation - by providing the disability-inclusive education perspective. IDDC’s research (funded by the Open Society Foundations) provides sound recommendations for donors and State Parties and helps to clarify advocacy and policy steps towards achieving SDG4 for all children. Our vision is ambitious, to ensure equity for all by 2030. To do this we need to consider the findings of the research and reshape the way we think about funding education to ensure equitable financing.
