In the context of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Austria and Israel, 29 young Israeli leaders spent a week in Austria and took part in an intensive programme of scheduled visits. In May, a delegation of young Austrian leaders had visited Israel at the invitation of the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
The ‘Young Israeli Leaders’ spent an action-packed week in Austria. On Monday, they met Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz, Secretary-General Michael Linhart and the President of the Jewish Community Oskar Deutsch and also visited the Jewish Museum as well as the Academy of Sciences. Day two started with a visit to the Vienna University of Economics and of the Integration Centre operated by the Austrian Integration Fund (Österreichischer Integrationsfonds), followed in the afternoon by a visit to the Kapsch Group and the Kapsch Museum. Day three took them to Styria where they visited the Montanuniversität Leoben (university for mining, metallurgy and materials), the steel company Voestalpine Stahl Donawitz GmbH as well as Dewetron, a successful production enterprise specialising in electronic gauging instruments.
The last day of their trip to Austria began with a breakfast meeting in the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna where the Israeli Ambassador to Austria Talya Lador-Fresher invited the group to take part in an informal discussion. Following this meeting, the young leaders went on to the Austrian Economic Chamber and visited the Lauder Business School.
