Podgorica, 31 March 2010 Press release

Month of Austrian music in Montenegro

Podgorica, 30 March 2010 – In March and April, cultural life in Montenegro will be dominated by Austrian performances: On 5 March 2010, a „Central European Evening“ was staged in the National Theatre of the capital Podgorica in cooperation between the Austrian and the Slovenian Embassies. The Montenegrin Symphonic Orchestra delighted audiences with well-known symphonic works by Mozart and Haydn.

On 13 March 2010, the Upper Austrian jazz, swing, and crossover band „Parov Stelar“ gave a performance in the newly opened jazz club „Very Nice“ in Podgorica, which was described by the mostly young audience as the best ever staged event of this music style in Montenegro.

In the week after Easter, the trio Jess-Kropfitsch will be playing contemporary and classical chamber music at the IX International Music Festival „A tempo“ in Podgorica, followed by a concert in the royal summer palace in the coastal city of Bar.
