The Task Force "Dialogue of Cultures" was established in the Austrian Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs in 2007 and serves as a contact point for and originator of various intercultural and interreligious dialogue activities. The Task Force offers expertise on matters of dialogue and promotes the creation of national and international networks between dialogue partners. It cooperates with an international network of contacts and serves as a liaison to Austrian government institutions, religious organisations, NGOs, academic institutions as well as members of academia, culture, the media and the economy. The ever-expanding network of the Task Force -- including experts on intercultural and interreligious dialogue, journalists in Austria and abroad, representatives of the officially recognised faith communities in Austria, former participants of dialogue trainings, initiators of dialogue projects and representatives of Austrian and international organisations -- offers extensive opportunities for knowledge creation and the exchange of opinions.
Furthermore, the Task Force supports the Austrian representations abroad with the identification, design and implementation of dialogue projects. These initiatives aim at promoting intercultural understanding through education and the exchange of information, the rapprochement between different cultures and religions, the strengthening of intercultural competences and the inclusion of marginalised groups and religions -- nationally as well as internationally. Multilaterally, the Task Force engages in dialogue initiatives in the context of the United Nations, the OSCE, the Council of Europe, within the EU and in cooperation with the International Center for Dialogue (KAICIID) in Vienna.
One of the key projects is the Intercultural Achievement Award (IAA). The IAA's objective is the promotion of innovative and practice-oriented projects in intercultural dialogue. Besides four international prizes in the categories Sustainability, Recent Events, Innovation and Media, a special prize for Integration is awarded to an innovative Austrian project. The Task Force is pleased to support the networking with Austrian representations abroad and is looking forward to learning of interesting projects: email@example.com
