NEW - Term agreement for residence title “Settlement Permit – Gainful Employment Excepted“
Appointments for application for quota-dependent resident permits (excluding employment) in the first calendar week 2017 (1st calendar week 2017 (2.1., 3.1., 4.1., 5.1.) can be reserved from 14.11.2016, 12:00 local time!
IMPORTANT: Only a limited number of settlement permits can be granted each year. The date and time of application is therefore important for obtaining a quota under the quota system, especially in the case of residence title “Settlement Permit – Gainful Employment Excepted“.
One appointment is needed for each applicant (including members of the same family).
Federal Presidential Election: Postponement of runoff election to December 4, 2016
The Austrian National Assembly passed a Resolution on September 21, 2016 to postpone the Federal Presidential runoff election to December 4, 2016.

Seminar & Exhibition "Smarter Than Car"
The seminar "Smarter Than Car - Urban Mobility After Cars And Oil" by the EUAP will be held on 30th September, 2016 (6:30pm - 8:30 pm) and the exhibition starts from 30th September, 2016 (5pm) and will last until October 16, 2016.
The exhibition explores the impact of energy transition on urban mobility in Vienna to create a new vision for a post-carbon City in 2050.

Hong Kong and Austria boost Tech ties
On his current visit to Austria, Secretary for Innovation & Technology, Nicholas Yang has signed a MoU on tech start-up ecosystems co-operation with Austrian Science, Research & Economy State Secretary Harald Mahrer in Vienna in the latest initiatve to boost tech ties between Hong Kong and Austria.

Direct Flights Hong Kong - Vienna

WORKING HOLIDAY PROGRAMME
A bilateral working holiday scheme between Hong Kong and Austria allowing 18 to 30 year old nationals of both places to work or take up study up to 6 months in the respective territories was signed today, 12 January 2015,by the Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, and the Austrian Consul General General Dr. Claudia Reinprecht.
