On 19 September 2019 the Parliament of Austria unanimously adopted an amendment to the Austrian Law on Citizenship in line with Austria’s ongoing efforts for reconciliation with all those who suffered under the totalitarian Nazi-regime in Austria.

Eligible persons are able to file a declaration ("Anzeige") to acquire Austrian citizenship.
