The Austrian Library in Baku has a stock of 2000 books, as well as newspapers and films from Austria. Reading by authors, book presentations, lectures, conferences, theater and video shows are organized.

Obligation to register

Foreigners who plan to stay more than 10 days in Azerbaijan are obligated to get registered upon place of stay.

Foreign citizens must register at the National Migration Service in Azerbaijan if they plan a stay over 10 days. Basically, the registration should be done by the hotel or the accommodation provider, but you should make sure that you get registered. In the case of failure of the registration fines may be due.


Since April 2016 the OeAD Info-Point Baku is also an examination Center for ÖSD (Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch), which is a state-approved examination and assessment system for German as Foreign Language / German as a Second Language. The ÖSD diplomas are standardised proof of language competence and are recognized in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

Fingerprint for Visa

With the introduction of visa biometrics, all applicants older than 12 years must appear personally at the embassy due to the requirement to give fingerprints.

Note: Passport collection is only possible 5 working days following application!
