Access to the Embassy

Access to the Embassy is governed by strict security regulations. These rules serve to protect our staff and our guests.

All services are available by online or e-mail appointment only (except for Austrian citizen emergencies).

Kindly only book or request an appointment when you have all the required documents ready.

To facilitate your entry, please bring your appointment confirmation printout. If you forgot to print this, tell the guards right away so they can check back with the relevant section of the Embassy.

Persons intending to stay in Austria for a period longer than six months have to apply for a residence permit. Before filing such an application, all documents have to be verified and legalised.

Ghana and Cameroon: verification of documents

Documents from Ghana and Cameroon can now be verified directly at the VFS Global offices in Accra and Yaoundé respectively. Therefore it is only necessary to come personally to the Embassy in Abuja when applying for a residence permit or a visa.
