The Helbock Trio was presenting a superb jazz concert at the Austrian Embassy on the evening of the 6th March. Harpist Monika Stadler gives guest performance

Internationally recognized harpist Monika Stadler was giving a guest performance at the residence of the Embassy last Saturday. 150 music lovers enjoyed the musician playing the only harp in India owned by the Austrian Embassy New Delhi. The artist was playing mainly her own compositions and provided a very broad musical selection. Elements of jazz, classical, world, folk and improvisational music form her signature style. After her arrival in Vienna Monika Stadler noted to us “It was a pleasure to give the Indian audience an understanding of harp music.”

Scholarships for artists, curators and authors

The Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts is offering scholarships to artists, curators and authors. This year’s program is organized with the main topic ‘transgressing boundaries’. Teachers for 2018 are Caroline Achaintre, Ei Arakawa, Diana Campbell Betancourt, Tony Chakar, Martin Herbert, Aisha Khalid, Jakob Kolding, Andreas Lolis, Till Megerle, Ruth Noack, Emeka Okereke, Ciara Phillips, Yorgos Sapountzis, Hubert Scheibl, Ekaterina Shapiro-Obermair, Ahlam Shibli, Sabrina Steinek/Sabine B. Submission of compositions on "Otherness"

The Murau International Music Festival (MIMF) 2018 will takeplace from August 17th to the 25th and will consist of aworkshop program for voice and composition as well as aconcert series. All composers have the opportunity to submithitherto unpublished scores to this year’s theme of“Otherness”. The selected piece will be premiered under theartistic direction of Zane Zalis at the Gala Concert in theMathäuskirche in Murau on August 24 and will be performed again on the repeat date of the concert on August 25.

1st International Haydn Competition for Classical Lied and Aria

As of 2018, the International Haydn Competition for Classical Lied and Aria will be held in Rohrau (June 2-3), birthplace of the brothers Joseph and Michael Haydn, to commemorate the anniversary of Joseph Haydn’s death. It is being organized by the state of Lower Austria in cooperation with the HAYDNREGION NIEDERÖSTERREICH Society.
