Der international renommierte österreichische Migrations- und Bevölkerungswissenschaftler Prof. Dr. Rainer Münz hält sich anlässlich einer Gastprofessur am Zentrum für österreichische Studien an der Hebräischen Universität in Jerusalem auf. Im Rahmen seines Israel-Aufenthalts wird er auch einen Vortrag mit dem Titel "Maneuvering at the abyss - What is going on in the Eurozone?" an der Universität Tel Aviv halten. Prof. Münz ist Leiter für Forschung und Entwicklung der Erste Group sowie Mitglied des Forscherteams am Hamburgischen WeltWirtschaftsInstitut.

Abstract
The lecture lists major problem areas, including the hot spots of the Euro crisis: Greece, Italy, Portugal and Ireland. It also provides an overview on the type and magnitude of actions taken so far: rescue packages, EFSF and ESM and unorthodox measures taken by the ECB. One main question remains, however: will this be enough? The lecture ends with a view on long-term solutions to reduce imbalances, which are generally considered to be the main reason behind the current situation.
