"Amtstage" in Seattle
In order to provide better service for the Austrian citizens in Washington State and neighboring states, who's Austrian passport will expire in the course of this year, the Consulate General of Austria in Los Angeles will hold two "Amtstage" (to receive applications and to fingerprint) at 1823 Terry Avenue (corner: Stewart Street and Terry Avenue), 11th floor, conference room, WA 98101 on the following days:
Thursday, September 16, 2010 from 9:00a.m. to 12:30p.m. and from 1:30p.m. to 5:30p.m.
Friday, September 17, 2010 from 9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. and from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m.
It is suggested to set up an appointment with our office either by e-mail or phone (310-444-9310).
Please bring along all documents listed on our website in original plus copies, as well as passport-photos and the fee (Money Order or Cashier's Check ONLY payable to the Austrian Consulate General - the EXACT amount. The fee for September is $ 88.20).
New Telephone-based System to Improve Service for the Public
To facilitate timely and accurate dissemination if information to the public regarding applying for a visa, the Austrian Consulate General in Los Angeles will launch a new Visa Information Service on 29 April 2009. Applicants will be able to call the service to obtain information regarding for entry and residence permits. The Austrian Foreign Ministry is proudly introducing this service in a continuing effort to provide excellent service.

The new biometric passport with fingerprints

From March 30, 2009 only applications for a new biometric passport with fingerprints can be processed. From that day onward all applicants have to come personally to the Consulate General.
