Influenza H1N1

Regarding the new type of influenza H1N1, travellers are advised to follow common-sense health practices to avoid the flu:

Before travelling:

Ø  Consult with your doctor about any health concerns and medications (e.g. Tamiflu or Relenza) 

 During your journey:

 Ø  Washing hands thoroughly and frequently with soap and water.

Ø  Avoiding contact with people who are obviously sick. Attached you find some more information from the New York City Health Department about the new influenza.  

If you feel sick, please contact immediately a doctor. Avoid contact with other people.

Online Registration before travelling to the U.S.

Starting January 12, 2009, travelers from the visa waiver programm (including Austria) to the US without a valid U.S. Visa must apply for ESTA (electronic system for travel authorization) prior to travel. The ESTA registration form  can be filled in from any computer with internet access and is free of charge.  Applications must be submitted no less than 72 hours prior departure.
