Dialogue of Cultures
The Dialogue of Cultures is an important topic in the bilateral relations between Austria and Indonesia. A short-term diplomatic exchange programme between the Foreign Ministries of Austria and Indonesia was successfully conducted in 2008. In June 2008 a delegation of Muslim scholars visited Vienna. In May 2009, a symposium with the title "State, Law and Religion in Pluralistic Societies - Austrian and Indonesian Perspectives" was held in Vienna; officials, scholars, faith representatives as well as journalists of both countries actively contributed to the success of this interfaith event. The preparations for a follow-up event in Indonesia in 2010 are ongoing.
