Great Career Potential – Girls Day at the Austrian Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs

Vienna, 24 April 2014 – The Austrian Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs once again opened its doors to girls looking for career opportunities on this year's Girls Day. In addition to the school visits offered all year round, interested girls between the age of 15 and 17 were today given the opportunity to learn about the various career options the Ministry has to offer. Some 70 interested girls participated in this year's event with its multi-faceted programme. Hands-on presentations and interesting workshops – organised by the various departments of the Ministry – provided the most important information and illustrated the diversity of career options in a compact form tailored to the age of the participants. Whether it is apprentices, high school graduates or university graduates – the Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs offers career options to everybody who passes the selection procedure.

"The Girls Day is an excellent opportunity to point out the various job options that young women have – for example at the Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs. I would be pleased if some of the girls who visited us today could imagine working here one day. I am happy that we were able to provide the visitors with a good insight into our work", Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, Sebastian Kurz said.
