Vienna, 11 April 2013 – ”Budget Minister Cazeneuve’s suggestion to place Austria on a French “black list“ for tax havens due to a lack of cooperation is nothing but an inappropriate diversion tactic to divert attention from French problems“, said State Secretary Lopatka. “On Tuesday, the Austrian federal government already communicated its willingness to negotiate on data exchange with the EU partners“.
“Apart from the fact that Austria is no tax haven, proposing a national “black list” misses the point – after all, an internationally binding list of tax havens, administrated by the OECD, is already in place“, the State Secretary added.
