Ankara , 1. February 2010 Press release

Year of „Women and Music“ opens in Ankara

Start of the concert season at the Austrian Embassy with „Ad Libitum“

Ankara, 1 February 2010 – The music season was opened on 28 January with a brilliant concert at the residence of the Austrian Embassy in Ankara. In an unusual combination of a piano and two flutes, the ladies trio „Ad Libitum“ interpreted works by Mozart, Kuhlau, Doppler, and Köhler in thrilling arrangements.

The concert by the ladies ensemble  - featuring Evren Kutlay/ piano, Didem K. Cengiz and Z. Anil Acun/ flute – was staged under this year’s motto „Women and Music“, which will provide a particular forum for female musicians and composers throughout 2010.

A series of additional events on this particular theme – that will include the Austrian-Turkish Women’s Platform founded at the Austrian Embassy in November 2008 – will take place at different venues in Ankara in the coming months.
