Cultural Forum in Rom continues its focus on contemporary music

From 1989 until today

Rome, 1 February 2010 – The Austrian Cultural Forum in Rome will continue its series of events focusing on modern classical music with a concert scheduled to take place on 2 February 2010 at 8 pm.

The programme will feature works by Hans Werner Henze, György Ligeti, György Kurtag, Kurt Schwertsik, Friedrich Cerha, Mauricio Kagel, Gottfried von Einem, and Iván Eröd – all the pieces were composed after 1989. The event will also include music by Ludwig van Beethoven, bringing the theme series „1989I2009: Start into a new Europe“ at the Cultural Forum to a close. The performing musicians are Ida Aldrian (mezzo-soprano), Monique Ciola (piano), Michael Stüve (violin), and Roger Low (cello).

The concert will be repeated at the Museo Pecci in Prato (Tuscany) on 4 February 2010.
