Warsaw, 5 October 2009 - As part of the initiative "Divided I United. 1989 | 2009: Start into a new Europe", the Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw, together with KulturKontakt Austria is organizing an exhibition titled “Borderless, 20 years after”, starting from 5 October.
After the fall of the Iron Curtain, KulturKontakt launched an initiative which invited young artists from Central, Eastern, and South Eastern Europe to stay in Austria as "Artists in Residence".
The anniversary exhibition "Borderless, 20 years after" will present the works of eight Polish artists who participated in the "Artists in Residence" programme at the time. Albeit this is an anniversary exhibition, it is primarily the latest works by these artists that will be on display, which were partly created especially for the exhibition or revised versions of those works that the artists produced during their stay in Austria. The exhibition displays works by Hubert Czerepok, Oskar Dawicki, Tomasz Domañski, Sławomir Góra, Ewa Kaja, Anna Konik, Katarzyna Kozyra, and Marzena Nowak, which include video installations, photos, light objects, and room installations with photo elements, paintings, and drawings.
