Ensemble of the Vienna Symphonic Orchestra performs in the Caves of Cappadocia

Istanbul, 7 October 2009 – On 10 October 2009, the "Doremis Ensemble Wien" will be performing a very special concert in the Caves of Cappadocia. Steeped in history, the caves create unique acoustics and a thrilling atmosphere as a result of their extraordinary stone formations. In this unique environment, the ensemble will be performing works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Joseph Haydn, Max Reger, and Murat Üstün (http://doremis-in-kappadokien.jimdo.com/).

"Doremis" is a successful ensemble consisting of the four young symphonic musicians Claire Dolby, Karl-Heinz Schütz, Vera Reigersberg, and Ernst Weissensteiner. The group stands out with its exceptional musical qualities and multifaceted repertoire. The individual artists' international reputation combines with a great joy in playing and an open approach to music. The concert in Cappadocia is the result of a cooperation between the Austrian Cultural Forum in Istanbul, Argos in Cappadocia, and Asmali Cave House.

In addition, "Doremis" will be giving another concert on 8 October 2009 in the Austrian Cultural Forum in Istanbul’s Yeniköy palace. The occasion will also be used for a photo exhibition on architecture in Vienna and Graz, organized by the Bahcesehir University in Istanbul.
