The invited guests included numerous representatives from the world of politics and science.
Professor Aylâ Neusel is an outstanding personality who has been involved in the scientific and political promotion of women in academia and society in Germany and Austria for decades, and who has helped reform their underlying conditions. Aylâ Neusel has succeeded in implementing new concepts in university and women’s policies, not least due to her ability to inspire people and institutions and to win them over for her ideas. Neusel planned a university (University of Kassel) and served as its first vice president. From 1999 to 2003, she was the president of the “International Women’s University” (IFU) in Hannover, which she founded herself. From 2003 to 2008, Professor Neusel was a member of the first university council of the University of Vienna. With Professor Neusel, this is the first time that this honor is awarded to a member of a university council in Austria.
