Rijeka, 3 November 2009 - As part of the initiative "Divided I United. 1989 I 2009: Start into a new Europe" organized by the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, the Austrian Cultural Forum in Zagreb, together with KulturKontakt Austria, is organizing an exhibition titled "Borderless, 20 years after" on 4 November at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Rijeka.
The works displayed in the group exhibition were created by those nine Croatian visual artists who have worked in Vienna as "artists in residence" ever since KulturKontakt Austria was founded.
The exhibition, curated by the artists themselves, comprises works by the internationally renowned Croatian artists Vesna Kovačić, Igor Eškinja, Kristina Lenard, Damir Očko, Tanja Perišić, Ana Bilankov, Marko Tadić, Sebastijan Dračić, and AnaKadoić.
The exhibition at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Rijeka will be opened on 4 November at 7 pm by the Austrian Ambassador in Croatia, Jan Kickert, the Mayor of Rijeka, Vojko Obersnel, and the director of the museum, Jerica Ziherl in the presence of all nine artists, and will remain open to the public until 28 November.
