Rome, 27 October 2008 - On invitation of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Rome, the author Arno Geiger will participate in two readings in the Italian capital on 28 October 2008.
At a morning event to be held in German which is mainly designed for school classes and language students, and at another event in the evening the author will read excerpts from his novel "Es geht uns gut", which was awarded the German Book Prize in 2005. The book was translated into Italian in spring 2008. At the public event in the evening, which will be moderated by Franz Haas, the German literature expert who lives in Italy, the audience will be given the opportunity to listen to excerpts from this translation.
With the two events, which are being organised in cooperation with the Austrian Institute in Rome and Bompiani Publishing House, the Cultural Forum Rome is continuing its focus on contemporary Austrian literature, participating in the initiative "Austria is reading".
Admission to both events is free of charge.
