Honouring a great friend of Europe
Vienna, 2 April 2012 – Secretary General for Foreign Affairs Dr. Johannes Kyrle presented the Austrian Decoration for Science and Art, First Class, to Dr. Wolfgang Wolte, Ambassador (retired) in a festive ceremony. “In his capacity as member of the Board and Advisory Committee of the Austrian Society for European Policy, Ambassador Wolte has contributed an essential share to the knowledge of and education focussed on Europe at Austrian schools and to the nation-wide information about Europe over the past few years”, Secretary General Dr. Kyrle said.

A European to the backbone and an EU expert of many years, he teaches the history, role and importance of European integration and informs interested people of all age groups about the challenges Europe is facing today. In the framework of the “EU und DU” travelling exhibition, in particular, he holds regular lectures and participates in panel discussions.
