Plassnik: "Co-shaping the image of Austria during its Presidency"
Active support for EU Presidency from Austrian enterprises
Vienna, 22 December 2005 - Yesterday evening, Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik and State Secretary Hans Winkler introduced the 15 cooperation partners for Austria’s EU Presidency from the Austrian business world.
Austrian business has been strongly involved in the organisational and logistical preparations for the Austrian EU Presidency, which started two years ago. This close cooperation creates added value for both sides.
"Our partners from the business world will share in the public presence and visibility enjoyed by the Presidency. The participating enterprises will help forge the image that will be taken home by observers and participants in the wake of EU meetings," said Plassnik.
Foreign Minister Plassnik expressed her cordial thanks to the cooperation partners, whose personal dedication and commitment have made this cooperation possible. "These 15 enterprises are cooperation partners who are active both globally and on the European market; they are a good example of the European dimension of the Presidency. We have the opportunity to make use of valuable support measures and the highest levels of professionalism shown by these enterprises," continued the Foreign Minister.
As Plassnik pointed out, the cooperation partners will not only provide material services but will also take on complex logistical tasks. In addition to the conferences to be held in Austria, the meetings in Brussels will also benefit from their services.
The cooperation partners and their services
Vöslauer Mineralwasser AG
will supply mineral water for about 70 conferences to be held in the Vienna Hofburg and at the European Councils in Brussels.
Mondi Business Paper Holding
The stationery and conference programmes for the Presidency will be printed on BIO TOP 3 grade paper, which will be made available by Mondi Business Paper.
will forward the conference material of the Presidency to over 100 Austrian representations all over the world.
Porsche Austria GmbH in cooperation with AUDI AG and VW Nutzfahrzeuge AG
will provide the Presidency with vehicles of the Audi A8 and VW Caravelle types for the 20 large-scale conferences held in Austria.
will provide the fuel for the vehicle fleet during the Presidency as well as service and maintenance of the vehicles via the OMV service station network.
Wiener Städtische Versicherungs AG
will be in charge of car registration in Austria, the issue of licence plates and the insurance cover of the vehicle fleet.
Mirabell/Kraft Foods Österreich GmbH
Austria’s Presidency coincides with the Mozart Year 2006; Mirabell’s "Mozartkugeln" will remind the conference guests of this anniversary.
Österreichische Post AG
will make available leisure shoulder bags with a logo as a souvenir of the Presidency.
will provide bath towels with a logo as a souvenir of the Presidency as well as floor mats for the Permanent Press Facility.
Austrian Airlines AG
will make available flight tickets for the traditional visits of the Committee of Permanent Representatives II and Members of the Brussels Press Corps to Austria.
Siemens Business Services GmbH
will provide notebook computers for the employees of Austria’s Permanent Representation in Brussels and staff of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs for the duration of the Presidency.
Riedel Glas Austria
will lend glasses for the restaurant area in the Justus Lipsius Building in Brussels.
The Province of Vorarlberg and Zumtobel AG
will provide the lighting for the newly designed Press Cafeteria in the Justus Lipsius Building in Brussels.
This morning State Secretary Hans Winkler was handed the keys for the vehicle fleet, which consists of Audi A8 and VW Caravelle cars for about 20 large-scale conferences in Austria. The use of the vehicles will be organised with the assistance of the Austrian Armed Forces, whose members will also chauffeur the cars.
