Studying abroad
Academic mobility has increased considerably over the past few years. Stays abroad during or after studies may be an integral part of a course of studies, required by a specific project or simply suggest themselves as an enhancement of one’s personal qualifications. Mobility programmes offered by the EU, individual countries or universities are designed to support these objectives. Austria was a driving force behind the "Central European Exchange Programme for University Studies" (CEEPUS), on offer since 1995 and designed to promote the academic cooperation of nine Central and East European countries by offering undergraduate and graduate study schemes with uniform degree structures. The programme contributes to the objective of the European Ministers of Education to create a European space for higher education (Bologna Declaration).
Moreover, increased participation by Austrian institutions of higher education in Joint Degree Programmes will substantially augment the attractiveness of Austrian universities.
Information about academic programmes offered can be obtained from international databases on the Internet, the respective diplomatic representations or the relevant administrative staff at the respective home university.
