Secretary-General Dr. Johannes Kyrle

I am pleased to welcome you to the website of the Austrian Foreign Ministry.

The Secretary-General for Foreign Affairs is responsible for the central administration of all political and organisational matters of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs.

As Secretary-General I am also a member of the National Security Council, which advises the Federal Government in all principal matters of foreign, security and defense policy. In addition the Secretary-General is Head of the Section I (Central Affairs) of the Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

Especially for interested citizens and journalists the Foreign Ministry has set up a press service on this website where current press releases, speeches and photos can be accessed online.
