The Austrian Embassy in Malta was opened in 2005, shortly after Malta joined the European Union in 2004. Through our common EU membership the bilateral relations have acquired a new and special quality of which the establishment of a resident Embassy in Malta bears testimony.

The Embassy offices are located on the 3^rd floor of the beautiful historic building "Whitehall Mansions" overlooking Msida Creek and the bastions of Valletta. The Ministry for European and International Affairs insisted on the highest environmental standards (no electricity from atomic power in the used energy-mix).

The Austrian Embassy in Malta endeavours to promote and support the further development of manifold linkages between our two countries, be it in the political or economic area, be it on experts level in various areas, be it in the cultural field or in scientific cooperation. On the website you will find information on current events and an events calendar.

Busy tourism in both directions to and from Austria brings our two countries closer on a people-to-people level. Sometimes this may necessitate the Embassy’s assistance either to provide information or in cases of emergency. The website offers this assistance as a first contact point. In cases of emergency the embassy can, however be contacted by telephone at any time.
