Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art awarded to writer Hedwig Brenner on April 16th 2012 in Haifa
Leo Alter, born in Vienna, celebrated his 100th birthday on 19 March 2012.
Austrian Ambassador Franz Josef Kuglitsch and Mrs. Margarethe Lachower from the Consular Section congratulated him. Mr. Leo Alter emigrated from Austria to what was then Palestine in 1932. Until recently Mr. Alter used to paint and he insisted to donate one of his paintings to the Austrian Embassy.
