Application for an Austrian Passport

• Duly filled in and signed application form
• For minors: consent of legal representative/s 2nd page (Zustimmungserklärung): If the mother is unmarried only her signature will be required. If parents have shared custody (e.g. marriage) both parents are required to sign. If parents are divorced only the parent who has been granted the right to legally represent the child (divorce decree must be presented) can apply for a passport.
• proof of citizenship (Staatsbürgerschaftsnachweis), in original and copy
• birth certificate, original and copy (if born in South Africa, the FULL or UNABRIDGED BIRTH CERTIFICATE)
• letter of determination of citizenship of the Department of Home Affairs (if born outside of South Africa)
• marriage certificate, original and copy (if married in South Africa, the FULL or UNABRIDGED MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE)
• if appropriate: legal divorce decree
• 2 passport photos (no videoprints oder polaroid photos!!!)
• old passport
• South African ID-Book
• consular fee in cash
