Grand Viennese Ball
The Grand Viennese Ball, a highlight on the Johannesburg social calendar, this year marks its 30th anniversary. The ball will take place in the Ballroom of the Sandton Sun Hotel on Saturday May 14, 2011 at 6.30pm for 7pm.
The great Ball Orchestra, conducted by Richard Cock will entertain the guests with timeless, great Viennese Music and the Horizon Band will get them into the right dancing mood. Debutantes of the German International School of Johannesburg will graciously open the 30th Grand Viennese Ball.

Information about Viennese Balls
At 450 balls during ball season you get to know Vienna at its most exuberant: dancing to classic waltzes, hot rhythms or spectacular midnight quadrilles. Whether they are set in magnificent places or hypermodern locations, all balls have one thing in common: they combine international quality with that special Viennese flair.
All you need to whirl across the dance floor is a great mood and the perfect outfit: the dress code is usually black tie or tailcoat or tuxedo for the gents and floor length evening gowns for the ladies.
The Masibambane College
A school located in one of the poorest communities in Orange Farm, is an Education Africa Initiative. It was built in 1996, as the result of a request made by the late Walter Sisulu to Education Africa. Funds were donated by the City of Vienna to build the school.
Since the construction of its first phase in 1996, with on-going support of the City of Vienna, the school has been expanded and now accommodates over 850 learners.
It consists of a community outreach centre which reaches 20 000 people in the community, with skills programmes and an AIDS orphans feeding scheme.
