The Virtual Austria Library
Southern Africa does at present not house an „Austria Library“. In order to assist interested readers and users with material on Austria, the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs has established a virtual Austrian Library, which offers documents and material in 20 different categories, ranging from classic to modern literature, foreign Austriaca, as well as links to publications of the European Union, the Austrian literature in exile, publications of Parliament, reference material and a link to the Austrian National Library and its new releases.. While still work in progress, step by step online access to resources on Austria will develop into a full, multifaceted virtual Library. At a later stage, access to online scripts and a central catalogue will also be offered.
The standard set-up of an Austrian Library consists of selected 3500 books, in addition to newspapers, magazines, and audiovisual material.
