Criminal Records Check (Police Clearance Certificate)

Application:
An application for a Criminal Records Check may be filed either in Austria (at the Police Departments in the main cities or at the mayor's office in the smaller towns/villages) or abroad (at an Austrian Embassy or Consulate).

The applicant has to show up at least once in person (either when filing the application or when picking up the certificate). It usually takes one to several weeks to receive the certificate.

Please bring with you:
a) Criminal record application form (available only in German)
b) ID (e.g. passport)
c) birth certificate, marriage certificate, or divorce certificate [if needed]
d) consular fee of € 42.00 (payable in CAD)
