Viennese Ball of Montreal
Viennese Ball of Montreal celebrates Klimt and SOS Children's Villages
This year's Viennese Ball of Montreal is dedicated to Gustav Klimt, one of the most important Austrian artists and a representative of Viennese "Jugendstil" or Art Nouveau. Art lovers in Vienna and worldwide are celebrating what would have been his 150th birthday this year. A wonderful facsimile exhibition of his life and work will decorate the Ballroom.
2012 is also a milestone in the Ball's history in Montreal. It was 50 years ago that the Ball first supported Austrian-founded SOS Children's Villages which is today one of the largest child welfare organizations in the world providing long-term, family-based care to orphaned children in over 130 countries.
