The 70 minute work for a 24-piece ensemble by Georg Friedrich Haas is a beautiful and substantial piece, based almost entirely on musical colour. A contrast of light and dark, harmony and dissonance, startling and captivating the senses. Much of the intense composition takes place in total darkness.
