For a lack of adequate English equivalent, the term “residence permit” will be used for the German word “Aufenthaltstitel”. An “Aufenthaltstitel” is a blanket term for different types of documents authorising a foreign national’s stay in Austria. If the term is used in its correct meaning “Aufenthaltsrecht” this is made clear within the text.
