Foreign nationals may own property in Austria only with the permission of the competent provincial government office (Amt der Landesregierung). Competent is the Amt der Landesregierung of the federal province in which the property is located.
In order to find property for sale it is advisable to contact either a real estate office or to look through newspapers of the respective province for advertisements.
