General Settlement Fund
The legal basis for the establishment of the General Settlement Fund for Victims of National Socialism was adopted at the beginning of the year 2001 by the Austrian Parliament (General Settlement Fund Law). The Fund will be endowed with an amount of USD 210 million, provided by the Republic of Austria and Austrian companies. Of the Funds available one half shall be reserved for payments in the claims-based process (pro rata payment), and one half for payments in the equity-based process (payments on a per-household basis). USD 25 million shall be allocated for payments for insurance policies.
