1991 Joins the Austrian diplomatic service.

1993 Posted to the Permanent Mission of Austria to the European Union with secondment to the External Relations branch of the EC (GD 1 A).

1994 – 1997 Posted to the Austrian Consulate General in Los Angeles/USA as Deputy Consul General.

1997 – 2000 Posted to the Permanent Representation of Austria to UNESCO in Paris/France as Deputy Permanent Representative.

2000 – 2005 Head of unit for EU policy for the Mediterranean and Gulf region at the Austrian Foreign Ministry/Vienna, National Coordinator of the Barcelona Process and Gulf Cooperation Council.

2005 - 2009 Minister plenipotentiary at the Austrian Embassy to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Austrian Mission to NATO.

from 20 July 2009 Consul General of Austria to Hong Kong and Macao.

Consul General MAYNHARDT is married and has three children.
