Austrians Abroad - Registration

If you are an Austrian citizen residing either permanently or for an extended period of time within the area of consular jurisdiction of the Austrian Consulate General in New York City, you are kindly requested to register with the Consulate General.P>

Why should I register with the Consulate?
If you register with the Consulate General, its staff is in a better position to get in contact with you in case of an emergency or a crisis (for example, following 9/11). We can provide you with useful information and can inform concerned relatives and friends in Austria about your whereabouts.
In addition, you will be informed about upcoming elections in Austria and how to participate in them. There is no obligation to register, but it is recommended for your own self-interest and might prove to be helpful in times of emergency and crisis.

Please note: Only if the Consulate General knows where you reside in its jurisdiction can it be of assistance to you.

If you decide to register, please fill out the registration form below, and then send it via e-mail or print it out and send it by mail or by fax (212-585-1992) to the Austrian Consulate General. Please make sure that especially your correct e-mail adress and your cell phone number is included.
