Searching for persons in Australia
For lack of a compulsory registration office in Australia it is very difficult to locate a person. Addresses which Australian authorities have are subject to data security and cannot be accessed by a third person. Information are also not given to the Austrian Embassy.
The Embassy is therefore not able to determine the address of persons which are staying in Australia, unless the address is on record in one of the Embassy files. In justified cases the Embassy can pass this address on to private persons.
The only public source of information is the telephone book Whitepages. For a search: you enter the surname of the person and choose the Federal State.
Another possibility is to contact an Investigation Office. Contact details of investigators can be found on Yellowpages. For a search you enter "Investigators" and choose the Federal State.
