Police Clearance Certificate

Police Clearance Certificates provide information concerning possible criminal records or convictions of applicants.
An application for a Certificate of Good Conduct may be filed either in Austria (at the Police Departments in the main cities or at the mayor's office in the smaller towns/villages) or abroad (at an Austrian Embassy or Consulate). Applications have to be filed in person.
Necessary documents:
- Application form
- Photo-ID (e.g. Passport, Driving License, Proof of Age Card, ID-Card)
- Money Order or Bank-Cheque for the current consular fee made out "Austrian Embassy"
Application by EU-citizens:
If the application for the Austrian Police Clearance Certificate is lodged by a citizen of another EU-member state a request for information regarding the police record of that member state will be lodged by the Austrian authorities automatically in accordance with relevant EU-guidelines. The applicant will be informed of the result of this enquiry.
