Austria - Member of the UN Security Council 2009/2010
At a meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in October 2008, Austria was elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the period 2009-2010. Austria received this appointment in recognition of its effective engagement in multilateral diplomacy and its commitment to the United Nations.
