Widerkehr Trio from Vienna - Classical Music Concerts on Wind Instruments
The Widerkehr Trio played three evenings of modern and traditional western classical music. The trio consists of:
Thomas Frey - Flute
Bernhard Zachhuber - Clarinet
Matthias Kronsteiner - Bassoon
With the Widerkehr Trio a group presenting contemporary as well as classical western music performed in India in their unconventional instrumentation of flute, clarinet and bassoon. Thomas Frey, Hubert Kerschbaumer and Matthias Kronsteiner have been playing together since their music studies at the renown Anton Bruckner University in Linz, Austria and are devoted to discovering and spreading the music for this combination, including the commissioning of works by contemporary composers.
The audience experiences an evening of great contemporary and traditional classical composers such as André Frédéric Eler or Jacques Christian Michel Widerkehr as well as 20th century works byJorgen Bentzon, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Ch. Koechlin and Eugène Bozza.
