Austrian Jazz Duo in Nepal and India
The Austrian Jazz duo Christoph Pepe Auer and Christian Bakanic visited India and Nepal in April 2013. Performing in the combination of saxophone and accordion, the young, appraised musicians presented a selection of modern Jazz to their audience.
The Austrian saxophonist, flute- and clarinet- player Christoph Pepe Auer has performed at a number of international jazz festivals and is, amongst others, award winner for Newcomer of the Year of the ‘Hans-Koller Price’. Amongst his many musical projects are the ‘New York Sessions’ and the ‘Christoph Pepe Auer Trio+’.
Christian Bakanic has been highly praised as a composer as well as playing the accordion and the Styrian traditional harmonica, being reputed as a ‘rising star on the European scene for his accordion work’. His wide musical array is reflected in his current projects such as the folk duo ‘Temmel & Bakanic’, the tango quartet ‘Mala Junta’ or the crossover band ‘Folksmilch’.
