Storytelling performance with Austrian storyteller Helmut Wittmann
“Once upon a time, maybe it was yesterday, maybe it was today…” This is how Helmut Wittmann’s presentation of Austrian fairy and folk tales usually start. Together with musicians, he creates special, magical spaces where his stories come to life and inspire the fantasy and creativity of young and adult listeners alike.
Helmut Wittmann has been working as a professional storyteller for the past twenty years and received the prestigious “Gertrude-Hempel-Ring” award from the European Storytelling Association for his relentless commitment to preserve and disseminate knowledge of fairy and folk tales from Austria and Eastern Europe.
On his first tour through India, Helmut Wittmann brings along Austrian “Bockpfeife” (a kind of backpipe) player Franz Bernegger, as well as a bag full of exciting and funny, insightful and philosophical stories that involve magical gardens, wise dwarfs, mighty eagles, lucky farmers and much more.
The „Mozart Choir of India“ children’s choir of the Austrian Embassy will join the performance.
