We invite you to the photo exhibition “Salzburg: Portraits of a City” featuring works by Anusha S. Yadav (Mumbai, India) and Anja Hitzenberger (Salzburg, Austria and New York, USA). This exhibition is organised by the Austrian Cultural Forum New Delhi in collaboration with Dhoomimal Art Centre.
When? Saturday, 26 February to Friday, 4 March 2011, daily from 10 am to 7 pm (Sundays closed)
Where? Dhoomimal Art Centre, A-8 Connaught Place, New Delhi 110 001
About the exhibition:
The City of Salzburg is known around the world for its historic architecture, cultural flair and picturesque landscape. Much less do people know about the residents of this town of 150.000, when it is them who really create the unique atmosphere of Salzburg. Salzburg is the most cosmopolitan city in Austria, with more than 150 nationalities calling it home.
For this exhibition, representatives of the communities of Salzburg were put on center stage. Their portraits, taken in locations picked by them, not only tell inspiring life stories but embody the diversity and versatility of Salzburg. With a gallery of faces created by photographers Anusha S. Yadav and Anja Hitzenberger, we invite you to stroll along Markartsteg, Müllnersteg or the bank of the river Salzach, but also to explore the at once local and global perspective of Salzburg.
