... at the Permanent Mission
Interested Austrian citizens who have just finished or are in the process of finishing their studies and would like to gain some insight into professional life at a permanent mission and in international organisations, are invited to apply for a position as a volunteer (i.e. intern). Interns will get the opportunity to participate in the daily work of the mission and also accompany delegations to meetings of the various institutions. Some have used this opportunity to write papers or theses on issues dealt with in Geneva.
The duration of such an internship is between two and six months. Neither a salary, nor pocket money can be offered, but interns will join a professional and dedicated team in a pleasant office environment. Contacts with interns from other permanent missions as well as the international organisations themselves will enrich the learning experience. Applications together with a curriculum vitae should be addressed directly to the Austrian Mission in Geneva (e-mail: genf-ov(at)bmeia.gv.at) well in advance, as the required security clearances normally take at least two months.
