Tasks of a Permanent Mission
According to the Vienna Convention on the Representation of States in Their Relations with International Organisations of a Universal Character, the function of the Permanent Mission consists in:
a) ensuring the representation of the sending State to the Organisation
b) maintaining liaison between the sending State and the Organisation
c) negotiating with and within the Organisation;
d) ascertaining activities in the Organisation and reporting thereon to the Government of the sending State
e) ensuring the participation of the sending State in the activities of the Organisation
f) protecting the interests of the sending State in relation to the Organisation
g) promoting the realisation of the purposes and principles of the Organisation by co-operating with and within the Organisation
