In the Vienna Based Organisations
The system of the United Nations is composed of numerous specialised agencies, semi-independent bodies, and related programs. Since each one of these has its own personnel policies, not to mention separate forms of recruitment, it is not possible to extend here the analysis to the entire UN system.
For this reason, we will focus here on the organizations based at the Vienna International Centre, namely the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO PrepCom).
