Naviagtion through the pages
This site is primarily controlled through the main navigation which is arranged horizontally in the upper area of all pages. The items of the main navigation feature a drop down menu, by which one can access another menu item down to level 3 directly from any page.
The left column displays the menu items of the level you are at.
Using the path located above each content (middle area) you can navigate upwards (back) according to the elements of the current structure branch.
Via "Full text search" you can search for key words in all areas or limited to specific topics.

E-mail limits
Due to security and capacity reasons the following limits apply for the Ministry's external e-mail traffic:
- Head office Vienna: 10 MB (megabyte)
- Austrian representations: 6 MB
- Austrian representations at international organisations: 6 MB
- Permanent representation of Austria at the European Union: 10 MB
Additionally, for reasons of security and efficiency, documents in certain file formats will be blocked by automatic filter systems. These documents (e.g. executable files and multimedia files) will either be deleted from the mail before the mail is sent to the receiver, or be returned to the sender.

Pressing the tab key causes invisible links on the current page to be displayed in turn, starting at the top of the page. When a link is displayed, press Enter to select it.
Adjustment of Fontsize
The font size can be adjusted using the controls in the upper right-hand side corner of the browser window.
Font: bigger – smaller
Additionally, to change the text size, you can use the menu command View – Text Size in Internet Explorer. In all the other browsers it is enough to press the Ctrl key simultaneously with + (plus) or – (minus). With Ctrl +0, you come back to the original size.
Colour adaptation and contrast
You can set your browser to ignore the colours and fonts on this website. In Internet Explorer, these settings are in the menu Extras – Internet Options. In the General tab, click the Colors and Fonts button, respectively, and make your settings after clicking the link that opens a Help page on the respective subject.
Windows users can additionally use the key-combination ALT (left) + SHIFT (left) + PRINT, to switch the screen to a special color scheme that has high contrast and a bigger font.
